Appearance
Created with an unappealing and frightening outer appearance, the monster finds that all of humanity only judges him by his outward
appearance and refuses to give him a chance to redeem himself through his personality. Even his creator, Victor, cowers and runs away in fear upon beholding his hideous semblance. This leads to his bitterness toward all of humanity, and as a result, he turns into a real monster on the inside who hurts and terrorizes people out of hatred.
However, as the source of his resentment was his lack of acceptance from society, this causes us to suspect that the true monster may actually be the humans, who had such a closed-minded, prejudiced mentality. In addition, since Victor was the monster's creator, he should have taken responsibility and nurtured the monster in a way that could have made the monster kind and tolerant. Instead, like the other humans, he merely ran away from his responsibilities, too consumed by fear and guilt to take any effective actions to mitigate the monster's destruction. In this aspect, Victor may have been the true "monster," as he primarily bears the blame for the harm that the monster brought upon the people.

No one ever gave me a chance to be happy
and kind because I looked mean. So then,
I gave up and decided to act mean, too. But
weren't they the true bullies?
